Is ADHD real? – Difference in the ADHD Brain

Is ADHD real? ADHD is a brain condition that can be treated. This is what I will be talking about in this video. ADHD and ADD are both the same disorder. The official name is attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Most people use the shorthand “ADD”. In this video, I’ll refer to it that way.

ADD is a neuropsychiatric disorder. It can manifest as a mental or behavioral disorder, but also a dysfunctional neural circuit in the brain.

ADHD is primarily genetic. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you will have ADHD if you have a parent with it. However, you are more likely to have it if you have the condition. Prenatal and perinatal insults can also be caused by smoking during pregnancy, alcohol abuse, or traumatizing births that cause oxygen loss.
