The American Academy of Pediatrics recently updated its guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD. Tim Verduin PhD, Clinical Director at the Institute for ADHD & Behavior Disorders at NYU Langone Children Study Center, discusses why it is recommended that children younger than 5 years old start treatment with behavior therapy. He also discusses the reasons why, at any age of children, the AAP recommends that medication and behavior therapy be used together.
