This talk addresses the common stigmas and prejudices surrounding ADHD and raises awareness for people living with the condition with the aim of generating more nuanced discussions. Quest is Kate Luebkeman, a fourth-year Quest student who studies the experiences of stand-up comedians. She enjoys school and advocacy, but she also loves to sing in the shower and dance to Ariana Grande and Lizzo. As an external manifestation her constantly-buzzing brain, she is obsessed with changing her room. She completes a dorm remodel every two months. After receiving a life-changing diagnosis of ADHD in her late twenties, she was inspired to give TEDx talk about ADHD. She believes that if ADHD was discussed in a more nuanced, informed manner, she would have been able to get the help she needed many years ago. Kate hopes that this talk will address the common prejudices and stigmas surrounding ADHD and bring awareness to the many people living with the condition. This talk was delivered at a TEDx event that used the TED conference format, but was independently organized by a local community. Find out more at x
